鋼纖維是指用鋼材的短纖維，將鋼絲切斷，并按照規(guī)定樣式壓制成兩端彎鉤，具有一定強度。鋼纖維主要用于制造鋼纖維混凝土，并應(yīng)用于隧道、工業(yè)地坪等領(lǐng)域。446#是鋼纖維的一種牌號，以4字開頭，除開446之外，以4字開頭的還有430等；凡是以4字開頭的鋼纖維，都是不銹鋼纖維，因為它們有一個共同的特點，就是含有鉻(Cr)。4字頭鋼纖維都含有耐蝕性貴金屬：鉻（Cr），因為Cr的強耐蝕性，所以廣泛被用于冶金行業(yè)，耐材行業(yè)，化工行業(yè)，被廣泛的鋼廠，冶金廠和化工廠所用。比如，鋼廠的鋼水槽，電極，冶金廠的爐壁，爐門，爐頂封蓋等。

1、按外形劃分有：平直形鋼纖維、壓棱形鋼纖維、波形鋼纖維、彎鉤形鋼纖維、大頭形鋼纖維、雙尖形鋼纖維、集束鋼纖維等等。

2、按截面形狀劃分有：圓形、矩形、槽型、不規(guī)則性。

3、按生產(chǎn)工藝劃分有：切斷鋼纖維(用細(xì)鋼絲切斷)；剪切鋼纖維(用薄鋼板、帶鋼剪切)；銑削型鋼纖維(用厚鋼板或鋼錠切削)；熔抽鋼纖維(用熔融鋼水抽制)。 有前途的是溶抽鋼纖維， 低。

4、按材質(zhì)劃分有：普碳鋼纖維(抗拉強度一般在3002500MPa)；不銹鋼纖維(按材質(zhì)有304、310、330、430、446等)；其他金屬纖維(鋁纖維、銅纖維、鈦纖維以及合金纖維)。

5、按表面涂覆狀態(tài)劃分有：無涂覆層，表面涂環(huán)氧樹脂，鍍鋅等。工業(yè)上大量使用的是無涂覆層的普通鋼纖維。

6、按施工工藝分類有：噴射用、澆注用。

7、按直徑尺寸分類有：普通鋼纖維(直徑d>0.08mm)；超細(xì)鋼纖維(直徑d0.08mm)；超細(xì)鋼纖維主要用于增強塑料及 摩擦材料。
